Tis the Season!

This year seems to have passed by in a flash! As we wrap up 2021, I look back to 2020 and wonder…where did the time go? I think we can all agree that 2021 was a pivotal and controversial year, and I’m happy to bid it a hearty “BYE!”

Hopefully, you have visited the Ave during this wonderful weather we have been enjoying! It’s bustling with life and an energy that is palpable. The GreenMarket is in full swing every Saturday morning at Old School Square from 9-2, selling local produce and products that are too yummy to miss!

The 100 foot Christmas tree, and all the usual events in and around the tree are back as well! There are movies, ice skating, Santa, etc… And let’s not forget the Holiday Parade! More information on dates and times in this issue.

Don’t forget to catch a show or concert at the Arts Garage and The Delray Beach Playhouse! There is something for everyone! Read about it all in our regular feature Gotta Hear.

Our City Person is a true gem. Emanuel “Dupree” Jackson, Jr., found-er of the EJS Project knows firsthand the positive power of having a mentor and now his passion is paying it forward. His work with helping at-risk youth has been recognized by many organizations, awarding him with the Hometown Hero Award from the Delray Beach Cham-ber, and the 2021 Leadership Organization award from Palm Beach State College.

As we welcome in 2022, let’s remember that we still have a long way to go as far as “normal” is concerned. There are many less fortunate still recovering from the past 2 difficult years.

Be kind.

Wishing you all things bright and beautiful.
