Putt’n Around is a miniature golf course, but there is nothing miniature about the grounds that bring fun and fanfare to Delray Beach.
This holiday season at Putt’n Around there will be a visual feast with 40,000 sparkling lights and holiday decorations spread over the entire mini-golf course. The sights and sounds are so uplifting, you would think Santa is in the house.
And guess what? Santa is in the house this year. By popular demand (and the owner’s imagination) Santa will have a workshop in the lobby with two sparkling Christmas trees. There will be pop-up Santa events, pictures taken with Santa at no charge for golfers, and a Story Time with Santa (tickets required). This ticketed event will include storytime with Santa, Mrs. Claus’ famous cookies, a visit from Santa and a storybook to take home.
Not only will Santa be in the house (at various times), but Mrs. Claus and Santa’s mom, Granny Claus will be at Putt’n Around. This festive time of the year deserves a North Pole Spectacular visit, due to Santa’s absence last year.
The golf courses – reminiscent of botanical and oceanic origins – are bedazzled with large Santa’s, Reindeers, Snowflake Lanes, Sparkling Stars and Constellations, Hanukah themes, giant Candy Canes and nature’s sparkling delights in colorful grand Holiday style.
The five-foot stuffed Santa, statuesque (12 foot and 9 foot) bejeweled Christmas trees, garland decor windows and holiday music will make this time of the year feel joyous. And who doesn’t need that?
Putt’n Around also has a full food menu with burgers, chicken sandwiches, chicken tenders, grilled cheese, pizza, hot dogs, desserts and more. They also have an impressive selection of 55 different craft beers, alcohol ciders, wine and soft drinks.
The excitement continues at this beautiful 36-hole mini-golf course, that’s divided into two distinct nature-infused sides. The Ocean course is made up of miniature rolling greens, tropical trees and plants, crystal blue waterfalls, winding rivers, banana trees and outdoor creatures.
The other exciting 18-hole course is the Everglades. Faux life-size alligators roam without motion, sea animals collide with nature, and indigenous plants and trees are sprinkled everywhere.
If you want to sit while marveling at all the fanfare and decorative delight, there are places to hunker down in this habitat of wizardry and song. Though Putt’n Around is technically in downtown Delray, its lush botanical gardens and oceanic expressions make it feel like you’re on a tropical island.
That was the reason founder Elise Johnson Nail created this 36-hole miniature golf course. She knew there was a need for a fun place for people of all ages. “When we moved to Florida there were limited opportunities for teenagers in downtown Delray. At First
Night (New Years’ Eve) there was a long line to play portable holes of miniature golf that a light went off in my head.”
That light is now legendary in Delray Beach. “This place is awesome. The Holiday Mini Golf season is the absolute best. Went with my entire family and we had so much fun.
Each hole has a place where you can set down your drink while you play the game. Their beverage runner is at your service within 5 minutes no matter where you are. What a fun evening out with lights and music!” said Kristy.
Nail and her team knew that playing mini-golf is fun, but they also knew that food and drinks would enhance the experience. That’s why at the 19th Hole you can call for food or drinks and it will be delivered directly to you on the course. You can also come to the cool air-conditioned clubhouse for relaxation and refreshments.
Elise’s son Daniel, the co-owner of Putt’n Around, announced that starting this month, the once familiar Free round of 18 holes on your Birthday Promotion is back!
The Putt’n Around team will also be at the Annual Holiday Pa-rade in downtown Delray this year in their antique red truck. The truck has a snow-making machine, a Christmas tree and surprises. Mrs. Claus and her friends will be passing out toys, balls, Barbies, stuffed animals and games to children on the parade route.
