We must begin on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month when we pause to honor all those who have served their country, whether in times of peace or war, and for their sacrifices and patriotism.
There are countless ways to demonstrate your gratitude to others, and I am a firm believer that actions and thoughtful gestures speak louder than words.
If someone has helped you, offering to reciprocate is a meaningful gesture that conveys your heartfelt gratitude and shows you value their time and support.
A handwritten note or card is a timeless and sincere way to show your appreciation. It reflects the effort and thoughtfulness you have dedicated to acknowledging someone’s kindness.
Giving flowers or a small gift is another wonderful way to express thanks. The gesture does not need to be extravagant—simple tokens are more than enough to convey your feelings.
Sometimes, a hug is the most personal and genuine way to say thank you and it’s my personal favorite. I’m a big hugger!
On Thursday, November 27th, we gather to give thanks for the blessings of the past year. This is a time to appreciate our family and friends and to be grateful for the food on our table.
One person who knows all about being Thankful is our City Person, Ann Paton. She offers endless support to local non-profits and her motivation for this; because her daughter Casey was born with a hole in her heart, which meant open-heart surgery when she was five. When Casey was almost five, the hole in her heart closed on its own. Ann vowed she would do good in the world to say, ‘thank you’ for the miracle.
