In the Northern Hemisphere, the months of September, October, and November are considered to be part of the fall season, also known as autumn. This period marks the transition from summer to winter, with decreasing temperatures and shorter daylight hours, but does this apply to us Floridians…. “Erm”…not really.
We still have the threat of storms and hurricanes, but this is offset by the glorious sunshine that we can expect daily in the Fall. We have beautiful beaches, warm waters, fabulous shopping, and eclectic dining, which makes Delray Beach a place of Paradise! We are very spoiled. And I don’t just mean the place, I mean the people too. The folks of Delray Beach are akin to flowers. They seem to blossom with the combination of plenty of sun and splashings of rain, which is why we have grown so many charitable organizations.
For me, Delray Beach offers some of the most giving and generous people I have ever met in my life. Every way you turn, you will find a Non-Profit making a positive impact in the community. Every one of them are willing to give either their time, wisdom, or money to support a great cause.
One man who knows all about helping our Non-Profits is our City Person this month, Chuck Halberg. I don’t have the words to describe what Chuck means to Delray Beach, only that he is held in such high esteem by so many. He engages in numerous non-profits; it makes my head spin. But more importantly, Chuck is a down-to-earth, genuinely super-nice guy. You can read and marvel at his work ethic and stamina that is required to support such great causes, all while being a business owner, husband, father, and grandfather.
