APRIL SHOWERS BRING MAY FLOWERS

We have quite a lot to unpack and share with you this month.

May 3rd is Kentucky Derby Day, and the Rotary Club of Delray Beach is kicking off its inaugural Kentucky Derby party, “Run for the Roses”. There will be food, drink, races, and contests. Taking place at Old School Square, they will bring the community together for a party filled with fun, celebration, and purpose.

Let’s not forget that May brings us the chance to celebrate motherhood and the important women in our lives. Mother’s Day this year is Sunday, May 11th, and this is a fantastic opportunity to stroll the streets of Delray to find that hidden gem to indulge your mom. With such a vast array of gifts, food, drinks, apparel, spas, and more, I promise you won’t have to look too far!

One person that could optimize Mother’s Day is our City Person, Tanise Cox. That’s because Tanise has worked at the Achievement Centers for Children & Families for the past 35 years. Tanise Cox always wanted a big family and that’s what she got at ACCF. Read on to learn more.

The end of May is a time for us to commemorate the men and women of the United States who made the ultimate sacrifice for this great nation, those who lost their lives and never came home. Join us as we honor our heroes on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27th.

Finally, a proud ‘Daddy moment’ as our Publisher, David Kirby, gets to showcase the wedding of his beautiful daughter Sydney & Tyler, his handsome son-in-law.

“Feliz Cinco de Mayo!”

Adiós, nos vemos el mes que viene!!

In a quote often attributed to EMILY BRONTË

Capturing the feeling of optimism that can be associated with the month of May.

May is the month of expectation, the month of wishes, the month of hope.”
