When winter arrives in South Florida, it doesn’t bring snow, it brings everyone together. What better way to celebrate this homecoming than to have a party.
The person to call to orchestrate your event from all angles is Nicole Grimes of Grimes Events & Party Tents. You won’t have to call a designer, lighting person, or tabletop company, all you do is call her.
Don’t let the name fool you – they have a lot more than party tents. They offer lounge furniture, dance floors, linens, pool covers, staging, lighting, HVAC, luxury restrooms and more.
For owner Nicole Grimes, each season is a chance to transform backyards, ballrooms, and open-air spaces into breathtaking environments that blend elegance, comfort and community spirit.
“People want their events to feel immersive and meaningful,” said Nicole, whose company has been setting the stage for unforgettable moments for 25 years. “It’s not just about décor, it’s about connection, experience and intimacy.”
This holiday season, the trend is more about transformation than information. Clear tents, a Grimes Events signature, bring in natural light during the day and allow the night sky to become part of the décor after sunset.
These transparent structures create the illusion of celebrating under the stars, without worrying about weather. “They’re perfect for winter events. We can easily add heating or cooling, depending on weather.”

From sleek white acrylic dance floors to plush velvet linens, every detail is designed to evoke elegance and personal style. “It’s about layering textures. We can provide woven fabrics, soft metallics and lush greenery,” said Nicole.
Lighting is also very important for any event – whether a nonprofit or a wedding. The current trends are vibrant color, chandeliers, string lights, fabric draping and plants.
We also create different zones – cocktail lounges, dining areas, interactive photo booths, and mixology stations. “Every area has its own personality.”
At a time when the experience is equally as important as the event itself, Grimes Events has perfected the art of stunning environments. There are signature party cocktails, roaming photographers (capturing candid moments) and lifelong memories. “People love to feel part of the celebration. It’s about creating memories that linger long after the lights come down.”
Even in corporate settings, Nicole encourages creativity. “We did a ‘Picnic Chic’ luncheon recently. It had boho-style low tables, rugs, greenery, and tasting stations from local restaurants. Another event featured local artists painting live pictures. “It was vibrant, bright, and whimsical.”
Grimes Events are known for their glamorous weddings, galas, Formula One Races and corporate affairs, Nicole’s heart beats loudly for community and nonprofit partnerships. “We’re deeply committed to giving back. Whether it’s sponsorship or an in-kind donation, we want to help local organizations succeed.”
She does just that.
This year Grimes Events is providing the infrastructure for two wonderful organizations. The YMCA of Boynton Beach’s 25th Anniversary Gala on December 6th for 500 guests, and The 12th annual Boca Raton Bowl at FAU on December 23.
In addition to these large-scale productions, they also support six to eight nonprofits a month (during season). From cancer awareness walks to Habitat for Humanity builds, Spirit of Giving parties and YMCA of SPBC events, Nicole is always nearby.
At the Habitat for Humanity ‘Runway to Build’ fashion show, Grimes Events created the entire runway, supplied the chairs, draped with ribbons and bows, to match the theme. Nicole walked the runway as both sponsor and model. “That organization is close to my heart. It was fun, but also meaningful – helping families in our backyard.”
Her approach is practical and visionary. Clients can make one call for everything: Furniture, lighting, tents, décor and chairs, table settings and more come from them. This eliminates stress, saves money and scheduling difficulties.
“When one team handles everything, it’s easier for you! This way clients don’t have to juggle multiple suppliers and timelines.”
Step inside a Grimes Events tent, and you’ll understand the difference. Romantic sailcloth tents sway in the evening breeze as poles wrapped in sheer fabric dance with string lighting.
Crystal chandeliers shimmer overhead, while guests lounge in seating areas feeling like chic living rooms under the stars. For indoor parties, Nicole and her team use fabric draping and uplighting to transform spaces.
“We can make a ballroom feel like an intimate escape. Lighting changes everything – from bright and festive to soft and romantic.”
As the South Florida season unfolds, there will be glittering galas, sunlit luncheons, weddings and engagement parties. Nicole and her team will continue to set the tone for every celebration – day or night. Their signature style blends luxury with heart, proving that even the most elegant events can be rooted in community and care.
“I love what I do,” said Nicole. “Every event is a chance to create beauty, connection, and joy. And that’s something worth celebrating.”
Another thing worth celebrating is being named Business Person of the Year by the Delray Beach Chamber of Commerce. Nicole just received this auspicious award that is well deserved. Congratulations!
