Dental Practice Adds New Life to Their Office

Delray Dental takes pride in their 41-year history in Delray Beach.

It is where the Ritota brothers launched their first dental office, and it is where their loyal patients come to for all their dental needs. Whether for a cleaning, a crown, or a cavity, Delray Dental welcomes people from all walks of life.

But something new is brewing at this fixture on Federal. The Ritota brothers, Drs. Ted and John, have welcomed a new dentist to their inner dental sanctum. A former dental assistant from Boynton, Dr. Samantha Sauers, is now a dentist at Delray Dental.

Dr. Sauers brings a list of impressive credentials that seal the deal for longtime patients of the office. She graduated with honors from Florida State University, received a Master’s Degree in biomedical science, and received her dental degree from Tufts University (a top dental school).

Formally a dental assistant, Dr. Sauers realized that dentistry was a fulfilling and rewarding career. “I always wanted to be a dentist and fell in love with it when I was a dental assistant. A patient would come in unhappy with their smile and 45 minutes later they would leave smiling from ear to ear,” said Dr. Sauers, who grew up in Boynton Beach.

Dr. Sauers enthusiasm is not lost on Drs. John and Ted. They enjoy the camaraderie and the teamwork that shared endeavors can bring to their profession.

“Dr. Sauers is an excellent dentist. She replaced a cap and veneer for me and I really appreciate her gentleness and bedside manner. Her talent was above and beyond, and she has a way of making you feel comfortable. To sum it up – Dr. Sauers has the hands of an angel,” said Vincent Costello, a retired restaurant owner, and patient at Delray Dental.

So do the patients.

While welcoming their new dentist to the practice, John and Ted are both keeping a watchful eye on health safety in their dental practice. “We are taking additional measures now at our practice,” said John. “We take patients’ temperature, use a pulse oximeter, and our staff does a lot of hand-washing.”

Patients do a pre-mouth rinse that kills bacteria and personal protective equipment is the norm. They all wear AlphaProTech N-95 masks, gowns and face shields. Also, to make visits more expedient, patient forms are downloadable from their website, eliminating the need for paper forms. They also have a new digital panoramic X-ray machine and comfy dental chairs.

Delray Dental has always been the first line of defense for patient-centric care. That is why they took care of emergencies from their patients during the initial COVID crisis. “People that did come in those months were very appreciative that they could be taken care of. During the three months of the shut-down, we saw
people from 10 to 2pm.”

Happy medical professionals do the best work, studies show. Both Dr. Ted and Dr. John continue to enjoy treating patients at their boutique dental practice that sits under the shade of an enormous banyan tree. So does Dr. Sauers.

“I really enjoy cosmetic dentistry. If someone breaks a tooth or needs a crown or bridge, I can help them. I take pride in creating natural-looking dental restorations.”

Patients testify to Dr. Sauers claim. “Dr. Sauers made me a bridge from start to finish. It’s so comfortable and natural looking I don’t even know it’s in my mouth. She was gentle and concerned about my comfort. I even got a call the next day asking how I was doing. I can’t speak highly enough about her, and everyone in that office is wonderful,” said Loretta Abrams-Mager.

Abrams-Mager is also quick to add that everyone in that office is wonderful. “On a scale of one to ten, they are a twelve.”

Both Dr. Ted and Dr. John keep up with the latest technology and treatments. They use lasers and state-of-the-art implant techniques with an in-house lab. They specialize in all aspects of dentistry. This includes implants, crowns, bridges, teeth whitening, root canals, oral surgery, invisible braces and emergency care.

Dr. John graduated from Georgetown University School of Dentistry and is trained in all Dental Implant Systems. Dr. Ted graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University School of Dentistry, has advanced training in implant systems, and completed surgical residencies for the placement of implants.

Delray Dental is also compassionate and kind – they take emergency appointments and are always available to help patients.

“The foundation of our office is built around our excellent staff – Carine, Luz, Andrea, and our hygienist Christina. We appreciate our happy office and especially our supportive spouses, Lisa and June Ellen.”

“We Stand for Experience and Strive for Excellence.
